High Court issues contempt notices to Mamata and Abhishek over 'Shaheed Diwas' rally
The family of an Assam man, who was seen being slapped by a co-passenger in a viral video aboard an IndiGo flight, has claimed he has gone missing since the incident. Hussain Ahmed Majumdar, a 32-year-old from Cachar district, was traveling from Mumbai to Silchar via Kolkata on Thursday when he suffered a panic attack. The video shows him being slapped by a fellow passenger, Hafijul Rahaman, while being assisted by the cabin crew.
According to Hussain's family, they identified him from the viral video after he failed to arrive at Silchar airport on Friday as scheduled. His father, Abdul Mannan Majumdar, stated that Hussain's phone has been switched off, and they have not been able to contact him. They have filed a missing complaint at the local Udharbond Police Station and have also informed officials with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at the airport.
Police sources, including SSP Cachar Numal Mahatta, have indicated that both Hussain and his assaulter were allowed to leave the Kolkata airport on July 31 after the CISF mediated a meeting between them. Hussain was reportedly scheduled to take a connecting flight to Silchar the next morning but missed it and did not take any other flights. While the assailant was detained and legal proceedings were initiated, IndiGo Airlines’ statement on the incident did not provide any details regarding Hussain’s whereabouts, leaving his family in distress.
